Church of Illumination
The Church of Illumination holds that darkness is not the absence of light, but the refusal of it. What is witnessed cannot be lost. What is watched cannot wander.
We do not ask our congregants to believe. We ask them only to be present, and to allow themselves to be seen as they truly are: wholly, continuously, without concealment.
Illumination is not a metaphor here. It is a practice.
"To be seen fully is to be known. To be known fully is to be at peace."
I pledge my eyes to my sector
before they are my own.
I pledge to let go
of what I am told to release.
I pledge my family to my sector
before I pledge them to myself.
I pledge that if I am asked,
I will answer,
even about the ones I love.
I pledge because this is my duty.
This is my peace.
Illumination is not offered. It is required. Once you have been seen, you remain seen.
What is held back from the light cannot be healed by it. Surrender precedes peace.
The congregation keeps what the light reveals. Nothing witnessed here is later lost.
Mandatory attendance for all registered citizens. Rolls are taken. Absences are noted.
Mandatory for the congregation. Presence is remembered. So is its absence.
A mandatory gathering of congregants across sectors. Location provided to each sector in advance.
Not requested. Not scheduled. For congregants selected for full surrender.

Attendance is not something you request. Nearness is. Inquiries are reviewed by the congregation elders. Not all who petition are drawn closer.
Write what you would release. It will not be kept. Only the fact of it will.
The Church meets when the sun turns.
